Podfade (Scott Fletcher)
- podcaster disappears off the map

Reasons:
- monotony

Considerations:
- takes longer to produce a podcast than you expect so take idea of time and double it
- over time you get faster
- when you first start out, the timeline might be an issue - chaos of life will interrupt the flow
- name might constrain you ...eg. "weekly"
- artists are hard to get so schedule needs to be flexible
- create the show YOU would wnat to listen to - keeps you motivated - repitition can get boring for you
- be sure WHY you are doing your podcast - reasons behind motivation will sustain you
- make a specific time for making your podcast - add to calendar - be regular - se it as a commitment

Tips for seasoned podcasters:
- have the support of your family
- stats - Yin and Yang - good and bad side - boost enthusiasm or send you into the depths of despair
(From the chat - find out what this means:
Emperors Hand: feedburner + libsyn = metrics!)

- add freshness like new intro or ending or a new segment - for yourself and your listeners
- get feedback from your listeners - they want your show to continue not fade...so make sure you meet the commitment to the listeners

Breaks in your program schedule:
- intentional or unintentional
- pre-empt if possible
- notify the listeners
- knowing that a break is coming can be a motivation
- sometimes your show allows a repeat on a feed - but add an intro to the show explaining why your chaotic life has led to a break

Returning after Podfade
- just do it
- explain why you faded
- can create an excitement form listeners
- use other media to promote you podcast
